Idaho’s critical access hospitals and other small facilities outside urban areas have been hindered by a lack of peer-review providers, shortages of staff resources and other factors that made unbiased peer review difficult and cumbersome.

Not only is the review process required by hospitals and other healthcare organizations, it is mandated by federal and state law.

Matraex and HBV determined that a cloud-based program where healthcare organizations could create a database of qualified peer reviewers that could be anonymized was a key step in the development process.
